These are the musings of a 40-something house-husband living in the Home Counties. Movie-goer. Sport-watcher. Sometime-baker. Loves a good chat! I used to work in the building industry, but now spend my time in the countryside. I studied Film & TV at a UK university and now have a first class degree – so hopefully I’ve got a fair idea about the aesthetics of the film world.
I want to be able to post some interesting thoughts about the films I watch at the theatre/ cinema. Generally they could be construed as reviews, but there are a host of better publications and/ or websites that can provide that service. I don’t have the luxury of being invited to press screenings (and why should I be!), so I’m just a paying customer like the rest of you. And these are my observations. Hopefully they will pique the interest enough to make you want to see the film yourself, or you can let me know whether you agree or disagree with my ideas.
So, please comment and/ or “like” my posts – I need all the affirmation I can get! Oh, and please spread the word 🙂
UPDATE: It’s been a long time since I’ve looked at this page. On re-reading the above it’s safe to say that nothing’s really changed – I’m happy with that and what I’ve written. The reason for this addition is to say “Thank you” to all of you that have visited my particular corner of the Whiskey With Water. I’m constantly amazed by the global location of users that have stumbled across this little movie blog. To show you why I find it so amazing, here’s a couple of screen grabs of the list of countries that people are/were located when viewing my posts. These are just from December 2014.
So if you’re reading this in some far-flung corner of this wonderful planet – in fact if you’re reading this from anywhere in the world – drop me a comment. Even if it’s just to say “Hi“. I’m genuinely grateful to you, dear reader, for spending some of your precious time reading the words I have written. “Thank you” once again. And don’t be shy. I don’t bite.
Thank you for reading 🙂
